Noisy Dog Studio - Paintings by Leigh Jackson
It all began 12 years ago with a Boston Terrier named Hugo. There he was, wrinkly faced and snorting, in the second stall at the Bellevue Washington Humane Society. The minute I saw him, my canine infatuation began, and soon I started painting dogs.

As a self-taught painter, I follow my own color sense and composition to create my "nose first" close-up portraits. Lately, my paintings have been recommended by Martha Stewart Living Gift Giving Guide and Real Simple Magazine.

My dog portraits are hand painted layer by layer to create one-of-a-kind work of art. A portrait of a favorite fur ball makes a uniquely personal birthday, anniversary, holiday or any day gift. A custom dog painting is the perfect wedding gift to dog loving couple.

I invite you to follow my blog documenting Witness, my 2012 Painting Project remembering the Pit Bulls who did not make it out of the shelters here They are more than a number or a statistic. I paint their portraits to put a face on this shame.
