Do you ever take commissions for other animals besides dogs?
- Yes, I have painted cows, goats, donkeys, sheep, and I am open to further suggestions.
Do you make your paintings on a computer?
- No, each painting is hand-painted by me.
Do you ever paint the animal's body?
- No, I paint only head portraits.
Can you paint more than 1 dog on the same canvas?
- I prefer to paint one dog on each canvas. If you have more than one dog, I think multiple canvases on a wall makes a great statement.
I don't leave near you, can you still paint my animal?
- Of course, I have painted portraits for clients worldwide. I will work from photos of your animal that you send me.
How much do you charge for a painting?
- Prices are based by the size canvas that you choose. 10" x 10" = $275 12" x 12" = $350 16" x 20" = $700 18"x18" = $ 700 20"x20" = $900
How much can I expect to spend on shipping?
- I ship all paintings fully insured via USPS. Shipping charges run between $12- $25 dollars depending on canvas size.
How long will it take to complete the painting?
- My painting schedule varies. I am especially busy during the winter holiday season. Please order early for holiday gifts. Once we get started discussing your painting, I will let you know my current time frame for completing your painting(s).
Do I need to frame the painting?
- I pain on a birch wood panel cradled with solid wood frame which is 1 5/8" deep. These panels won't flex, stretch, or warp, and they'll last longer than a canvas. no need to frame either.
What kind of photos are best for you to work from?
- Head shots of the animal, where I can clearly see his or her eyes. Eyes are the key to a great painting.
How do I send photos?
- Photos can be sent via email or snail mail.
What if you don't think the photos are good enough?
- If I think the photos you sent me won't work, I will ask you for more photos. If I really think I can't do a great job on your portrait, I will let you know.
Do I get to choose the background color for the painting?
- Once I receive your order, I will contact you via email & we will discuss your preferred color palette.
